The day was 2nd December 2009. The trip was a planned trip. It was an official visit (of course kerja la apalagi). I left my hometown Muar at 8.15am and reached Tangkak around 40 minutes later. I then parked my car at my customer's office and began the journey on a 4 wheel drive. There were four of us in the vehicle followed by other staff of the company I was going, in the other two similar vehicles. I was feeling a bit tired as I just arrived from Johor Bahru the night before. So, in terms of fitness not really 100%.
After a short while, we entered the road that would take us to the peak. At first, jalan tanah merah dan di kiri kanan, ladang kelapa sawit. It was quite bumpy. We then passed by perkampungan orang asli and started climbing. You could feel the difference as the altitude changed. The view was marvelous. On the way, we saw a cave and the guide (actually my client) told that it was often used by those yang nak bertapa. Rupanya selama ni bila orang dok cakap bertapa kat Gunung Ledang, memang betul rupanya. We all stopped la kejap and masuk dalam gua tu untuk ambil gambar. Cave tu tak la besar sangat. Tak jauh dari sini we arrived at the checkpoint. Sesiapa yang nak naik kenalah register kat sini tapi we all tak payah. Actually kat sini la terdapat kawasan tadahan Gunung Ledang. The dam....you know?? Pemandangan memang menawan.
We then continued our journey and after about 45 minutes, we reached the peak. The office was actually on the lower peak. The highest peak was very much visible from here. I was told it would take about 20 minutes to climb to the peak from here. The view from this place was so magnificent. The weather was nice but cold and a bit windy but my jambul maintain.....glue kuat punya.
After enjoying a brief spell of the atmosphere outside, I started with the work I was supposed to do. I could see the weather kept changing and at times there was light rain and cloudy as well. Once the work was done, I decided to take the opportunity to climb to the peak accompanied by 6 other members of the organization. Yang bestnya tu all of us were wearing proper office attire including leather shoes. Aku siap dengan tie lagi. Actually lupa nak bukak.
Pendakian tak de la mencabar sangat cuma at certain spots tu agak ngeri jugak especially bila kat sebelah nampak gaung. Licin sikit sebab baru lepas drizzling. Focus banyak tertumpu nak stabilkan kaki bila mendaki sebab dengan leather shoes senang tergelincir. Aku berdoa janganlah hujan. Bukan apa, nanti jahanam jambul aku.
Memang betul, 20 minit..... aku akhirnya sampai ke puncak. Puncak Gunung Ledang yang tingginya 1200m dari paras laut. Walaupun sebagai anak jati Muar, umur dah hampir mencecah 42 tahun baru aku dapat menjejakkan kaki di puncak gunung yang penuh dengan lagenda ni.
Pemandangannya.... SubhanaAllah! Tak dapat nak cerita. Betapa indahnya bumi ciptaan Allah ni. Aku terus termenung betapa banyaknya nikmat yang Allah bagi kat aku dalam tahun 2009 ni. Mula-mula tukar kereta baru (kereta yang diidam-idamkan pulak tu), lepas tu pergi umrah, last month pergi holiday di Bali, sekarang di puncak Gunung Ledang dan dua minggu lagi nak ke Langkawi pulak. Alhamdulillah! Betapa Allah tu Maha mengasihi hambaNya walaupun hambaNya banyak berdosa. Astaghfirullah.
Lepas penat mendaki hilang kami pun mulakan penurunan. Hah...yang ni lagi mencabar sebab kami semua pakai kasut kulit, so, memang tak grip. So terpaksa la turun dengan penuh hati-hati dan berhemah dan aku pulak tetap control macho. Jambul still okay.
Sampai di lower peak kami menjamu selera dan lepas solat kami pun turun dengan kenderaan yang sama. This was the one kind of experience I would never forget. Below are some of the photos I took.
